Give your ballet journey a boost - with a one-to-one online ballet lesson
I’ve been quiet on my blog lately, and the reason is simple - I’ve been busy teaching!
A year on from launching my small business from home I am enjoying working with dancers all over the world, and have been struck by the one thing that these dancers have in common - they all want to increase their ballet practise, but need help to do so, because it’s not possible for them to attend additional studio classes.
Take my first private ‘student’, who approached me some time ago. A mature beginner, this lady was already taking part in my group ‘Ballet for Wellbeing’ sessions, but frequently had queries regarding technique, and didn’t want to hold the rest of the class up by raising these issues. Hiring a space for individual tuition is costly, so I asked whether she would be interested in booking a one-to-one online slot. A year later, we regularly meet online, and she comes to the session with a pre-prepared list of questions to work through. A teacher’s dream! Especially for someone who just LOVES to talk ballet technique!!
Another young dancer in England is regularly attending local ballet classes, but was struggling with the demands of the lessons and finding balance an issue in particular. A regular private online ballet lesson - that fits in with the family home-schooling schedule - has helped identify areas of weakness and focus on exercises to build strength. Consistency is key here.
For other dancers, their rural location (eg in Australia or the Scottish Highlands) has made studio attendance logistically difficult, and an online option can build on their existing dance training without the need for additional travel. Others specifically wanted tuition in Royal Academy of Dance syllabus work - and as a Registered Teacher for this body I am of course delighted to oblige.
A ballet class delivered via Zoom negates issues surrounding commuting, poor weather, responsibilities at home or limited time. It can slip in and out of your day with ease, and leave you feeling satisfied that you are prioritising the pastime you love, whilst working towards your goals - all from the comfort of your own home.
